The Chicago School of Sociology as a Point of Departure for Aldo Rossi
Abstract
Aldo Rossi is known for basing his theory of urban design on academic knowledge, such as from certain French geographers, the Chicago School of sociology, and the perspective called "structuralism" from Sassure and Levi Strauss. This paper is to analyze his use of theory from the Chicago School, and to indicate how sociological knowledge might have been better used.
